Our Learning Approach

Primary School is a pivotal time in a child’s life. These first years are a time of intellectual curiosity and represent a child’s first contact with structured learning. However, young students do not learn at the same rate in all subject areas and that’s why we believe in allowing our students to develop at their own pace and to acquire knowledge according to their ability.

The school uses the Kenyan National Curriculum but takes a unique approach to teaching and learning. Classes are hands-on, interactive and student-centred, which means that the teacher guides the student to discover solutions themselves. Each student is given individual attention to ensure that their unique talents and abilities are being uncovered and strengthened.

Dynamic Assessments

We work to understand the bigger picture of a student’s learning strengths and weaknesses. We understand what it takes to bring success in any learning environment.

Cognitive Learning

We develop a learning plan which emphasises thought and growth. We work towards students’ academic goals.

Developing Confidence

We create an environment where students can take chances with learning. We want students to challenge themselves using what they have learned.

Extra-Curricular Activities:

Our teachers at Maisha Academy deeply care about the future of students and have a passion to build up our students’ intrinsic potential.

They respect and value the views of their students

who come from various backgrounds, whilst being the ultimate facilitator of knowledge in their classrooms. We value teachers who are not only instructive but who also remember to have fun, by bringing an infectious and positive energy to everything that they do.

Our students are equipped with educators who have gone through a rigorous process to be recruited and trained based on our culture, story, mission, and vision on how to help your child succeed in the 21st Century.
